Privacy Policy
Last updated 12 June 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Vintsnap ("Vintsnap", "we", "us") collects, uses and protects your information when you use the Vintsnap mobile app and vintsnap.com (together, the "Service"). Vintsnap is the controller of the personal data described here. If you have any questions, contact us at hello@vintsnap.com.
Information we collect
- Account details. When you create an account we store your name, email address and whether your email is verified. If you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive your name, email and (where provided) a profile image from that provider.
- Sign-in records. To keep your account secure, each session stores its IP address and the device/browser identifier (user agent).
- Photos and generated images. The clothing photos you submit for generation, and the listing images we produce from them. See Your photos below.
- Purchase records. We never see or store your payment-card details — purchases are handled by the Apple App Store. We do keep a record of your credit purchases and balance, your subscription status and expiry, and the App Store transaction identifiers associated with them.
- Diagnostic logs. Basic technical information about generations (such as timing and whether a generation succeeded or failed) to operate, debug and improve the Service. We do not log the contents of your photos.
- Usage and analytics data. How you use the app — the screens you view and in-app actions you take — along with your device type, operating system, app version and approximate location (from your IP address). This activity is linked to your account and does not include your photos.
Your products — the photos within them and the generated results — are stored on your device and are not uploaded to our servers, except for the specific photo you choose to submit for a generation.
How we use your information
We use your information to:
- provide the Service — generate your images and manage your credits and account;
- process your purchases and maintain your credit balance;
- keep the Service secure and prevent fraud, abuse and misuse;
- provide support and respond to your requests;
- meet our legal and accounting obligations.
Under UK data protection law, we rely on the following legal bases: performance of our contract with you (to provide the Service and process purchases); our legitimate interests (to secure, debug, understand how the Service is used, and improve it); compliance with legal obligations (such as keeping records of purchases); and your consent where it applies. You can opt out of analytics at any time — see Analytics and your choices. We do not use your photos to train our own AI models, and we do not use them for advertising.
Providing your account details is necessary to create an account and use the Service, and submitting a photo is necessary to generate an image; analytics is optional. We don't make decisions about you by solely automated means that produce legal or similarly significant effects, and we don't profile you.
Your photos
When you submit a photo for generation, it is processed using a third-party AI image-generation service to produce your listing image, which is returned to your device.
Temporary uploads that aren't used are cleared within hours. The source photo and the generated image are held on our servers for up to 90 days and then deleted; the generated results you keep remain on your device until you delete them. We do not sell your photos or share them other than as described below.
Sharing and service providers
We share information only with providers who process it on our behalf to run the Service, and only as far as needed. These include:
- AI image-processing providers — receive the photos you submit in order to generate your listing images;
- Hosting and storage providers — run the app and store your account data and images;
- Payment and subscription providers — manage your purchases and subscriptions.
- Analytics providers — help us understand how the app is used so we can improve it; they receive your in-app activity linked to your account identifier, but not your name, email or photos.
If you request a refund from Apple, we may share information about your account and your use of the Service with Apple — for example, the purchase concerned and the extent to which you have used the credits or features it provided — so Apple can assess the request. We do this to handle the request and to establish, exercise or defend legal claims, which is our legitimate interest. We share only what Apple needs for this, and never your photos.
We do not sell your personal information. We may disclose information where required by law, or to protect our rights, users or the Service.
International transfers
Some of our providers process data outside the UK and the European Economic Area. Where they do, we rely on appropriate safeguards — such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement, EU Standard Contractual Clauses or an adequacy decision — to protect your information.
How long we keep your data
We keep your account details for as long as your account is active. Source and generated images are kept on our servers for up to 90 days. We keep purchase and transaction records for as long as needed to meet our legal, accounting and audit obligations, which may be after your account is deleted. Usage analytics are retained by our analytics provider for a limited period so we can analyse trends over time.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to our processing of your personal data, to data portability, and to withdraw consent where we rely on it. You can delete your account, and the data associated with it, at any time from within the app — see our Terms. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) atico.org.uk.
Analytics and your choices
We use a third-party analytics provider to understand how people use the app — which features are used and where people run into problems — so we can improve it. This covers in-app events and the screens you visit; it does not include session recordings or your photos. If you'd prefer we didn't, you can turn analytics off at any time in the app's Settings, and we'll stop processing your usage data for analytics.
Children
Vintsnap is not intended for children. You must be at least 16 years old, or have the consent of a parent or guardian, to use the Service. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll update the "Last updated" date above, and where the change is significant we'll take reasonable steps to let you know.
